African Cup of Nations qualifier at Rufaro tomorrow.
Zimbabwe National Soccer Supporters Association executive secretary Fortune “Giant” Bgwoni yesterday said it was imperative that the Warriors fans packed Rufaro to the rafters and back coach Norman Mapeza and his team as they seek their first win of this campaign.
Bgwoni said the importance of the supporters in determining the outcome of the crucial tie had already been acknowledged and it was now up to the fans to come in their numbers and help the Warriors in their task.
“We are urging all the soccer-loving fans to come in numbers tomorrow for this make or break encounter against Mali.
“Our support will play a big role in determining the outcome of tomorrow’s crunch tie and I am urging fans to come early to avoid a last minute rush into the stadium.
“We have a new kit sponsorship from Puma and we urge supporters to buy our new replica jerseys from Zifa House so that we can be identified with the team,” said Bgwoni.
Bgwoni also wished a speedy recovery to the association’s president Eddie “Mboma” Nyatanga who is not feeling well and is unlikely to be at Rufaro tomorrow.
“I would like to wish a speedy recovery to Eddie who have not been feeling well for the past few days,” added Bgwoni.
The ZNSSA membership have enjoyed a special relationship with the Warriors and Bgwoni is hopeful it will be a similar tale at Rufaro tomorrow and that they will make it an intimidating atmosphere for the Eagles of Mali.
