A 53-YEAR-OLD man from Rainham Plots will spend the next 30 years behind bars after he was found guilty of raping his 15-year-old daughter on four different occasions.
Presiding magistrate, Ms Letwin Rwodzi, ruled that there was overwhelming evidence linking the accused to the offence.
Prosecutor Cecilia Mashingaidze proved that on an unknown date in April last year, the convict arrived home and found the complainant seated in the dining room.
He started accusing the girl of having an intimate relationship with her aunt’s husband since she stayed at his house in Masvingo from Grade One up to Grade Seven.
However, the daughter denied the accusations.
The court heard that the man then started assaulting his daughter with a belt, forcing her to admit to the accusations.
He forcibly lifted the girl threw her on the bed and raped her.
The complainant screamed for help but her father threatened to kill her and also told her not to inform anyone about the matter.
On another count, the State proved that on an unknown date in May last year, the convict was at home when his daughter finished bathing and went into her bedroom to change clothes.
He followed her into her bedroom and raped her again.
