A rapist prophet who could not phantom a lengthy jail sentence that was about to be handed to him broke into tears and wept soon after the guilty verdict was pronounced forcing court proceedings to adjourn.
Misheck Chifezani (30) of Buhera had to be consoled by his legal representative Mr Tawanda Garai of Chigadza and Associates and sentence was then passed though Chifezani with blood red eyes was not composed. Chifezani, a prophet of Zion Christian Church, was handed an 18 year prison term by Rusape regional magistrate Mr Livingstone Chipadza who suspended 3 years on condition of good behaviour. Rusape area prosecutor Mr Tirivanhu Mutyasira told the ourt that Chifezani raped a 14-year-old girl who is a churchmate after misleading her that he wanted to pray for her. “On 18 November 2014, around 1500hrs Chifezani instructed one of his daughters to call the complainant who was passing by the road. The complainant then went to the accused person’s house and upon arrival, Chifazeni sent his two children away to fetch firewood. His wife was absent. “The accused person asked the young girl to wash dishes. He later summoned her into his bedroom where he asked her to kneel down so that he could pray for her. Instead of praying for her Chifezani proceeded to rape the girl,’’ said Mr Mutyasira.
After raping the girl, he went outside the house for some minutes and returned to rape the girl, who was still in the house, again.
