UPCOMING Zim Hip Hop artist, Albert “Albie-Style” Rukanzakanza, says his catering business has turned around his musical life.

Having started music at the age of 16, the 29-year-old musician feels things are falling into place now.

In an interview with H-Metro, Albie Style said his catering business was working well for him.

“In the 13 years that I have been singing it has been a hustle for me to record my music.

“Sometimes, it would be either a shortage of recording gear or not being able to afford studio time.

“I then ventured into the business of selling food and that is what has been giving me a living so far,” he said.

He added:

“I went into the catering business and there I sell African foods.

“The money from there is the one I then use to book studio time and to also pay for other equipment I would need to use to record videos.”

He said he was determined to start own record label.

“Things are looking up for me and I want to start my own label and take some young artists under my wing.

“I want to start my own label so that I can recruit more and uplift other artists like me.

“So far, I am managing one artist called Shumirai, she is 18, and has so much talent, I have recorded one song with her.

“The song was released on her birthday and it was my way of trying to incentivise my artist,” Albie said.

Albie Style said he has plenty of recorded songs due for release.

“Since I started singing, I have recorded 16 singles.

“I have had the privilege to record one track with Lazzie T and also with Tasha.

“I have also managed to record a single with the Conquering Family, I recorded a song on their riddim called Metal Head,” he said.

The artist is currently doing an anti-drugs campaign.

“At the moment, I am doing an anti-drugs campaign.

“I am going to release a song called Soro Jena that will be talking about the need for people to stop abusing drugs. I love doing work that helps other people and that is why I am doing the anti-drugs campaign,” he told H-Metro.
