GORGEOUS Africa University student, Ratidzo Gwati clinched this year’s Miss 21st February Movement beauty pageant finals held last Friday in Masvingo.
The 23-year-old shrugged off stiff competition from 20 other models who took part in the glittering event that was part of President Mugabe’s 92nd birthday celebrations.
Apparently, Gwati was Manicaland’s second best when she contested at the provincial version of the pageant after 22-year old Iracelma De Fatima Dos Santos Cassule clinched the coveted prize.
Gwati, a Sociology student, said she was surprised to have been chosen the pageant’s finest.
She received $1 000 from Zanu PF, a hamper and a trip to Victoria Falls.
“I felt excited and surprised. I could not believe it. All the models were excellent and were determined to win. It was quite a tough contest. I am glad I won,” she said.
Gwati was Miss Africa University 2012 second princess. Former model, Nyaradzo Muchemenye who was part of Team Manicaland thanked stakeholders and individuals for their support.
