BRAZILIAN superstar Vinicius Junior has put Premier League giants on alert that he is open to a move from Real Madrid.
South American ace Vinicius, 25, has had a major fall-out with new Bernabeu boss Xabi Alonso.
Vinicius is accusing the former Liverpool midfielder of not treating him with enough respect.
Their relationship plumbed new depths when the Brazilian was hauled off, against his will, with 20 minutes left of Madrid’s El Clasico win over Barcelona on Sunday.
Vini Jr was left in visible disbelief, publicly questioning the decision and asking Alonso if he had made a mistake.
As he walked off the pitch, he was caught by Spanish TV cameras questioning: “Me? Me? Gaffer, gaffer! Me?”
Vinicius then stormed straight down the tunnel, appearing to yell: “It’s always me, I’m leaving the team. I’m leaving, I’d better leave.”
He eventually returned to sit on the bench for the final minutes of the game.
Now sources close to the player have suggested he believes the fracture with Alonso is irreparable and that he may have to leave.
And that would spark a bidding war among the Prem’s wealthiest clubs, with the chance to land one of the biggest talents on the planet,
Vinicius has scored 111 goals in 316 appearances for Real, in addition to eight in 43 matches for Brazil.
He scored the winner in the 2022 Champions League Final against Liverpool and also found the net in Madrid’s 2024 Final win over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
Real pay him around £350,000 per week and he is currently valued at around £130million, with his contract due to expire in 2027.
But his availability and dispute with Alonso could see a bid as soon as January with clubs seeking to take advantage of the split.
All the Premier League’s “top six” could be interested in Vinicius in the right circumstances.
Chelsea and Manchester City have both been keen on signing the Brazilian in the past, while Liverpool have a long-held interest in a left winger.
Manchester United would see the signing of Vinicius as a statement of intent after a humiliating 15th-placed finish last season.
Arsenal were interested in Vini’s team-mate Rodrygo when he was out of favour in the Spanish capital in the summer, before opting for a cheaper £50m move for Noni Madueke.
And Tottenham’s owners, the Lewis family, have just ploughed £100m into the club with a focus on driving long-term sporting success.
The announcement was made just weeks after Spurs dispensed with the services of frugal former chairman Daniel Levy. – Sun
