Red Fox will play host to one of the best sound systems, Black Supremacy from Kenya, from August 5-13 for a countrywide tour of Zimbabwe. Black Supremacy are East Africa’s biggest reggae DJs, who also have the biggest television show (East Africa) available on DStv platform called “Riddim Up”.
This will be their fifth visit to Zimbabwe, courtesy of Red Fox and will be touring Mutare, Gweru, Bulawayo and Harare.
“Coincidentally, it will also be the first time an international reggae sound or DJs have been hosted in these cities,” said Elder Robert “Robert Zee” Zhuwao.
“They will be supported by Red Fox Sound, Judgment Yard and Legendary Sound, Zimbabwe’s top reggae sounds DJs.
“Red Fox Family Zimbabwe presented the biggest and best Carnival Street Party at the recently held Harare International Carnival,” Robert Zee said.
According to Robert Zee, the tour is one not to miss as it seeks to unearth new talents to hit the stage in the future.
Red Fox Family Zimbabwe recently launched a documentary called “The Rise and Rise of Dancehall in Zimbabwe”, which highlights the influence of Jamaican dancehall culture on the modern day Zimbabwean artistes and their tribulations in the industry.
A comparison is drawn in relation to Kenya through the eyes of Black Supremacy DJ Juan and Mc Fullstop who participated in the documentary.
Week in, week out, Red Fox hosts some of the talented Zimbabwean acts in dancehall as well as other genres.
The venue is typically suitable for those who want to dance their night away as the sound systems drop tune after tune just the way music lovers like it.
There is no doubt, the upcoming tour by Black Supremacy will be another platform for young talents to showcase themselves alongside the international acts.
