Region 5 Swimming: Six Zimbabweans progress to finals

SIX Zimbabwean swimmers this morning progressed to the finals of the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) swimming competition.

The Zimbabwean swimmers who are expected to compete in the finals include brothers Cyprianos Andresious and Brendan, Kurt Steiner, Peter Wetzlar and James Lawson.

Andresious Cyprianos will be competing in the 200 metre freestyle. Brendan Cyprianos in the 100 metre Fly. Steiner in the 100 metre breaststroke. Raditdzo Mutangadura in the women’s 100 metre freestyle, while Lawson and Wetzar in the in the men’s 200 metre breast stroke.

Zimbabwe currently have two Silver medals and two Bronze medals. South Africa sits on 15 Gold medals, nine Silver and six Bronze medals.
