Kadoma mayor Mr Peter Matambo told The Herald that the water crisis was due to a major transformer fault coupled with another switchgear breakdown at the Claw Dam tower.
“We regret to inform our valued ratepayers that we are unable to supply water to the residents due to a transformer breakdown at Claw Dam tower and our engineers are working flat out to restore the power supply,’’ said Mayor Matambo.
The placard-carrying demonstrators demanded that the MDC-T-led council address them as they remained holed inside the house.
Former Kadoma deputy mayor Alderman Dominic Musapurwa Mazarura castigated the councillors for failing to update the residents on the water situation.
“These MDC councillors misinform the residents that the water crisis is emanating from the power utility Zesa and yet Zesa is telling a different story. So who is fooling who?” said Ald Mazarura.
