NKULUMANE streets went wild as the Vintage Culture Association and Victory Siyanqoba Trust pulled a stunt like no other – fighting drugs in old-school style!

On 8 August, the crowd marched from Nkulumane Universal Church to Nkulumane Hall, rocking vintage outfits that turned the protest into a full-blown fashion parade. Neighbours lined the streets, cheering and snapping pics as activists shouted down drug abuse.
Archibald Mumbamarwo, co-founder of Vintage Culture Association, told B-Metro:
“Fashion speaks louder than fists. With this look we’re teaching respect, culture and showing the youth there’s life beyond drugs,” he said.

Victory Siyanqoba boss Tilbert Moyo added:
“We use art to celebrate excellence, but this time we’re using it to fight a monster – drug abuse. Money was tight, but the message had to be heard!”

For some spectators, it was a trip down memory lane. Old folks smiled, saying the 80s vibes brought back their prime.
Marcher Dennis Kazingizi said the day proved unity is stronger than drugs.
“Different cultures, same voice – no to drugs!”

The event drew heavyweight backing too, with Nkulumane MP Desire Moyo and Ward 22 Councillor Mmeli Moyo throwing their weight behind the cause.
