REV CHIVAVIRO DUBBED A CREATIVE GENIUS AT ALBUM, BOOK LAUNCH

GOSPEL musician Reverend Togarepi Chivaviro feels his album and book launch is a significant moment in his career.

Chivaviro launched his 21st album and sixth book at the Anglican Cathedral on Tuesday night.

Both titled – ‘It Is Well’ – Chivaviro has also added his voice in the fight against drug and substance abuse  Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture Deputy Minister Emily Jesaya, who was guest of honour, described Rev Chivaviro as a creative genius.

“Rev Togarasei Chivaviro has done it again with a double launch for his latest literary and musical works, both named- ‘It Is Well’.

“I have witnessed his opening of an inspiring chapter of not only gospel but creative genius.

“He now has 21 albums to his name and the latest book is anti-drug abuse themed.

“It gives me pride to support such artistic acumen and I applaud Rev Chivaviro for sharing his passion in music and writing,” said Dep Min Jesaya.

She added:

“I want to offer my heartfelt congratulations to Rev Chivaviro for making a successful album and book launch possible, both in one shot.

“Zimbabwe’s creative melting pot is truly awe-inspiring and I urge all the young and upcoming creatives to take a leaf from all those that went before them,” she said.

Songs on the new album include Season Yekufara ft Shantel Sithole, Fambe Fambe Tobvunza Mweya, Denga Rati Hongu, Dombo Rakarekare, Rukariro and the title track.

Chivaviro thanked his fans for gracing the double launch.

“Harare mandifadza, this gives me the joy to return to the stage.

“I want to thank everyone who showed up at the launch as I launched my 21st album and literature work that speaks the same voice.

“The new project tells listeners and avid readers that no matter what they are going through in life, they should trust in God.

“Against all odds, rejoice and have faith that as long as you’re under His watch, things shall be well,” said Chivaviro.

The event was also graced by Minister of Skills Audit and Development, Paul Mavima, several government officials and fellow musicians.

Rev Chivaviro is also set to launch the same projects back at his new base in Leicester, UK, on Saturday.

He recorded his first music album ‘Peace, Hope and Love’   in 1999, while his first book was published in 2005.
