Rev Chivaviro on ‘Ebenezer Tour’

After gospel artiste Rev Togarepi Chivaviro signed a deal with International online music distribution channel Tune Core, the musician will embark on national tour that will begin today in Harare. Titled “Ebenezer Tour” the programme will see the musician performing in Harare, Kadoma, Kwekwe, Gweru and Bulwayo.

Speaking to The Herald Entertainment Chivaviro, who is making waves with his new album “Ebenezer-Tirimunyasha” that features a number of musicians including Pastor Charles Charamba, Noel Zembe and Baba Manyeruke, said his deal with Tune Core would help him market his music internationally while the national tour will be a chance to meet his fans across the country.

“According to the agreement, our music will be sold at platforms like Tunecore,VerveLife, Rhapsody, MySpace Music, iTunes Mexico, Zune, MediaNet, Amazon MP3, iHeartRadio, Napster, Spotify, iTunes US, iTunes Australia/N.Z., iTunes Canada, Nokiamusic, eMusic, iTunes UK/European Union, iTunes Japan,” he said.

Chivaviro said they are on a mission and fans in different cities where they are set to perform are guaranteed of good time of praise and worship.

“We have prepared well for the show and I am confident that people will love our music,” he said.

His first release was in 1999 titled  “Peace, Hope and Love”, in 2000 he released “Power”, in 2006, he released “The Best Of” (Compilation) before coming back in 2009 with “The Return”.

He also did “Ishe Taungana (Hymnal Worship Vol 4)” released in 2013.

Rev Chivaviro has also won a number of accolades in the last decade including the Musical Peace Award in 2003 for music that promotes peace.

He won the award alongside Alick Macheso and Ephat Mujuru for the song “Runyararo”.

In 2010, he was the first Zimbabwean musician to be nominated at the SABC Crown Gospel Awards in the Best of Africa Category for the song “Mumwe Ariko Kumusoro”.

Rev Chivaviro fellowships with the Apostle of Assemblies of Pentecostal Methodists headquartered in South Africa with branches in Zimbabwe, Mozambique and the United Kingdom.
