‘Revive premier bodybuilding events’

The Mr Zimbabwe contest has been off the radar for the past four years while the Mr Iron Man was not held last year as the association failed to organise the events.
In the absence of Mr Zimbabwe and Mr Iron Man, athletes shifted their efforts to competitions like the Mr and Ms Pro-Fitness, All-Africa Olympia and the Musclemania,  which are hosted as private events.

But Goredema hopes to revive their events to compliment the private competitions.
“Our main task this year should be to put emphasis on our own competitions as an association.

There is need to bring the good old days back to the sport,” said Goredema.
Goredema said he will try to encourage all stakeholders in the sport, especially former athletes and administrators, to work together.

“I think there is need to unite all the yesteryear athletes and administrators so that we work together as one team.
“Personally, I want to bring back the Mr Zimbabwe on the calendar for this year and also the Mr Iron Man. These competitions had been overlooked as athletes were more interested in private events.”
