President Mnangagwa has described the imminent reintroduction of the black and white rhino at Gonarezhou National Park as a “momentous conservation achievement” for the country after the animals were wiped out from the park by poachers in 1991.

Commenting on Twitter on Thursday, President Mnangagwa said:

“In 1991 poachers savagely wiped out rhino population in Gonarezhou. Today, Zimbabwe is reintroducing black and white rhino to the region. Truly a momentous conservation achievement.”
