A 22-YEAR-OLD Mutare-based DJ who is slowly making a name for himself is set to share the stage with Harare-based dancehall artistes at Pick ‘n’ Save today (Friday). DJ Young G, whose real name is Gerald Katize, started his career in 2011 when he used to play house music, but has shifted focus to dancehall music.

Despite facing many challenges of making it into the industry dominated by seasoned players, Young G never looked back and remained focused.

Over the years he has improved and managed to break through the shell.
Young G is set to perform at a show today which will see Harare-based dancehall artistes, Kinnah, JC and Ninja Lipsey performing.
Much is expected from the Mutare-based DJ.

Young G, in an interview, shared his thoughts on tonight’s show and his experience as a young DJ.
“This coming show will see Kinnah, JC and Ninja Lipsey performing, so this will be a platform for me to showcase my talent and make a name for myself.

“It has not been easy to be recognised in the industry that has renowned DJs like DJ Fresh, Flash and others. It took me over two years to make a name for myself. Even now I am still trying to get my feet fully standing in the entertainment industry. Sharing the stage with Tocky Vibes at a show here in Mutare shows the growth of my career,” said Young G.
