Ronaldo vs Messi

LONDON. — Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi?

It’s a debate which will rumble on for years.

But Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson is standing firm on who he thinks is better.

Both players have dominated the headlines for the last decade, sharing the last eight Ballon d’Or awards between them — Messi edging ahead of Ronaldo with five.

Real Madrid star Ronaldo has scored 51 goals this season and has the chance to fire Zinedine Zidane’s side to the third Champions League of his career when they play city rivals Atletico on May 28.

Messi meanwhile, has continued his exploits as part of Barcelona’s famed MSN trio which has plundered 130 goals this season, playing a crucial role in the La Liga title heading back to the Nou Camp for the second consecutive year.

But Ferguson remains unconvinced the Argentinian ace could still do the business outside of Spain.

Speaking at a dinner in Dublin over the weekend, Joe.co.uk reports Ferguson said: “I think Messi is a Barcelona player but Ronaldo could be playing for Stockport County and he would score a hat-trick.” — The Daily Express.
