Rotary Club to rehabilitate Shangani Rural Hospital

ROTARY Club of Belmont in Bulawayo has adopted Shangani Rural Hospital in Matabeleland South and will soon start rehabilitating its infrastructure. The club has also donated 50 blankets and 100kg of maize to the hospital.Speaking at the adoption and donation ceremony recently, the president of Belmont Rotary Club, Ms Marble Moyo, said the club wanted to mobilise resources to rehabilitate the hospital infrastructure as well as meet other costs of the institution.

“We are working with the councillor of Ward 23,  Mrs Felence Sikhosana. We have decided to adopt the hospital so that we rehabilitate its infrastructure and take care of other provisions,” said Ms Moyo.

During a tour of the hospital on Friday, the past president of Rotary Club of Belmont, Mr Obert Sibanda, said the club would provide drugs, computers, curtains, beds, stoves, paint and requirements.

“Our visit does not end today but we will be coming back as we continue to rehabilitate the hospital. We want a list of all the items that are needed,” said Mr Sibanda.

Mrs Sikhosana thanked the club for adopting and donating blankets to the hospital.
“We want to commend the club for adopting the hospital which we believe will go a long way in improving facilities at the hospital,” he said.
