A HARARE woman has told a court in the capital that her marriage is under threat with the friction being caused by a row with her husband over sadza.
Erina Dika says she is in a dilemma as her husband, Kudakwashe Pfumbidza, does not eat the food she prepares every time he returns home, which is usually very late in the night.
And, when she decides not to leave any food for him, his response is always brutal and things have deteriorated to such an extent she has now been forced to seek a protection order at the courts.
Magistrate Meenal Naratom granted her the protection order.
Erina told the court that her husband was a very abusive man who has been abusing her repeatedly.
“My husband comes home late and when he comes home, he does not eat the sadza that l cook for him.
“And, when I decide not to leave any food for him, he beats me up.
“This other day, he came around 3 am and he demanded sex and l refused and he pulled me off the bed and started beating me.
“I started bleeding, which lasted for about two weeks.
“He wanted to cancel our wedding and l told him to go ahead but the High Court ordered him to pay US$2 000,” she said.
Kudakwashe said he did not have any concerns if the protection order was granted.
“I have no issues if the protection order is granted,” he said.
