ORGANISERS of the Roadmap to Jesus International Ministries crusade in Zimbabwe say they have no obligation to pull down posters and remove Prophet TB Joshua’s image.
The case is expected to spill into court today.
The crusade is set for July 10-13 this year in Harare.
The posters have an image of Evangelist Godstime Adah, who is coming to lead the crusade, next to Prophet TB Joshua’s image.
The two worked together for some time, according to the organisers of the crusade.
The Synagogue Church of All Nations has filed a court application for the organisers of the crusade to stop using Prophet TB Joshua’s image on their promotional billboards in Harare and Gweru.
In its application, SCOAN sought an order barring the organisers not to use Prophet TB Joshua’s image, photograph, likeness, or name in connection with the crusade.
The application wants the court to order the organisers to remove all banners, posters, flyers, social media publications, and other promotional material bearing Prophet TB Joshua’s image or likeness.
The application also seeks to prevent the organisers from implying that their activities are affiliated with, endorsed by, authorised by, or conducted under the auspices of SCOAN Zimbabwe.
Violet Masuku, SCOAN’s Zimbabwe national coordinator, took the matter to court and a hearing is set for Harare today.
Jeremiah Majiwa Tsumba said the organisers were not the ones who came up with the material on the billboard and, therefore, they were not compelled to pull them down.
“Evangelist Adah is son to the late TB Joshua and will be in the country three days ahead of the crusade to be held in Harare,” he said.
“As organisers of the crusade meant to benefit a number of Zimbabweans, we have no jurisdiction to remove the picture of the late Prophet TB Joshua.
“We are not the ones who worked on the details put on the billboard and, after all, we cannot fight over the picture of TB Joshua.
“Registration for the crusade is going ahead and the visiting prophet is coming three days before the first day of the crusade.
“We were shocked by Violet Masuku’s decision to approach court over this.”
He added:
“We were supposed to resolve this amicably.
“We are going to attend the court and will be bound by the judgment.
“Registration is for free and we never charged, as alleged.”
