All MRFB affiliates are expected to attend a meeting which is meant to review the season.
Repeated efforts to get the agenda of the meeting from MRFB chairman Sean Robinson were fruitless as his mobile phone was out of reach.
A member of the board who preferred not to be named said they were going to review the season as well as plan for next year.
“Basically the meeting is meant to review the season and the chairman is expected to present his report which will be tabled for adoption after discussions. Board members will be briefed on the financial
standings of the organisation and sub-committees will also present their reports,” said the board member.
MRFB major highlight of the season was when the Sables played Uganda in a Victoria Cup competition which Zimbabwe convincingly won 49-21 at Hartsfield Stadium.
The region’s Sevens team also went to Zambia where they played in the annual Castle Sevens competition and gave local players exposure to international games.
Zimbo Busters’ Lloyd Machanjaira was one of the outstanding players this season and his effort was recognised by national team coaches.
The speed merchant featured in a number of games for Sables and is in South Africa with the Cheetahs playing at an IRB Sevens Series at Nelson Mandela Bay.
The board is likely to come up with dates as to when they are going to have their annual awards to honour outstanding players.
Plans are also at an advanced stage for the Matabeleland Under-21 to tour South Africa early next year where they are expected to play against Sharks.
