Johannesburg, South Africa, will be the place to be on 1 August as veteran outfit Tshongokwe Masterz launch their seventh studio album at the newly revamped Hillbrow Theatre.
The highly anticipated event will make history as the first show to be staged at the refurbished venue, with fans expected to pack the theatre for a night of classic Rumba rhythms and fresh tracks from one of Zimbabwe’s most enduring groups.
Fronted by Lupane-born musician Nkosikhona Ngwabi, Tshongokwe Masterz have remained a household name in
Zimbabwean Rumba, inspiring both veteran and upcoming artists with their signature sound.
Although the title of the new album is still under wraps, excitement is already reaching fever pitch, with followers eager to hear what the group have been cooking up in the studio.
The launch is being organised by renowned promoter DJ Mapressa, who said all systems are in place for a memorable night.
“Preparations are progressing very well and the response has been overwhelming.

“We want to give Tshongokwe Masterz the celebration they deserve after decades of entertaining music lovers,” said DJ Mapressa.
He added that fans should expect an unforgettable experience.
“This is more than just an album launch. It is a celebration of Zimbabwean Rumba and its rich legacy. We’re inviting everyone to come and witness history at the new-look Hillbrow Theatre,” said Mapressa.
Throughout their career, Tshongokwe Masterz have rubbed shoulders with some of the country’s biggest Rumba names, including the late Gwese, Dubia Masters, Berry Mr Zibo, Quite Gambule, Dubute Warriors, and Martin
Sibanda of Ndolwane Super Sounds.
The outfit continues to ride on the success of their evergreen hit Latina, a song that remains a favourite among Rumba lovers years after its release.
