FROM a distance, Kuda Samakomva seems to be a quiet and reserved young man but when one sees him on stage, he is full of verve and energy.

The 20-year-old gospel artiste is bound to attend auditions at the Zimbabwe’s most successful gospel outfit, Zimpraise.

“I grew up listening to various kinds of music. I used to sing at school and at church. My passion for music continued to grow. Right now I have released two singles namely, Pasi Rino and Huyai Tirumbidze musiki.

In Pasirino, I will be reminding people to pray fervently and shun evil.  In the song, Huyai Tirumbidze Musiki, I will be inviting people to come and worship Christ.

“In early February, I will be going to Zimpraise Choir for auditions.  I am happy with the development although I know the competition will be tough. It will be dream come true if I make it,” he said.

Long back before he embarked on a musical career, the budding singer used to sing in church choir. Samakomva started singing while at Mabvazuva Primary School in Rusape. Now he is known for his uniquely powerful voice and lyrics. He said his dream is to become and internationally-acclaimed singer.
