RUSAPE’s Manica Hotel is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to remain at the top of the game and fend off competition in the cut-throat hospitality industry. The hotel, formerly Balfour Hotel, reopened its doors in 2011 after years of closure and has been undergoing massive renovations in all departments to be in line with current trends in the sector.
The hotel’s manager Mr Trust Chigodora, said despite leading the pack, they are not sitting on laurels as they are planning to add more rooms, gazebos and an executive bar.
He said due to its central location in the Central Business District the hotel has become the first choice for events, conferences and corporate functions.
“We have major plans this year for our hotel as we are going to carry out serious renovations and introduce an array of new products and services. Since re-opening we are now experiencing brisk business.
“We are dominating the market here in Rusape because we are the only hotel.
“We are planning to introduce a state of the art gazebo, swimming pool and an executive bar.
“There has been demand for accommodation and thus more rooms are urgently needed.
“Conferencing is our flagship entity due to our central location which is convenient,” he said.
Mr Chigodora also said the refurbishment of the hotel will help change the image of the town which is vying for municipal status.
“The refurbishment will not only benefit us but the entire town as we vie for municipal status,” he said.
Manica Hotel is owned by Rateable Investments which also operates Manica Guest Lodge, Wimpy and Weirmouth Botanical gardens all in Mutare.
