He has been running the club since 2003 and on Thursday last week Madiri buried himself in glory after watching one of his star athletes at Speed Dynamiks, Jodie Williams, winning a gold medal in the women’s 200m final at the European Under-23 Championships in Tampere.
According to reports from Tampere, Williams went one better than the silver medal she won in the 100m the previous day at the same championships as she won gold in a closely run 200m.
Williams took the victory by four hundredths of a second in a season’s best time of 22.92 seconds while Ashleigh Nelson was just one hundredth of a second from winning a medal, finishing fourth in a personal best 23.25.
Bianca Williams pulled up before the finish line with an injury.
