Rusike clinches Maritzburg deal

MARITZBURG United have reached an agreement with Hwange for the transfer of highly-rated Zimbabwe international striker Evans Rusike.

The South African side have agreed to pay an undisclosed transfer fee and only the player’s personal terms are pending before the deal is completed.

Last week reports said a tag of R2 million had been placed on the striker.

Farouk Kadodia, the Maritzburg chairman, confirmed they had reached an agreement with Hwange. “The club-to-club negotiations have now been completed and we have reached an agreement,” Kadodia told KickOff.com. “We are now awaiting the completion of negotiations for the player’s personal terms and once that is done then the deal is complete.”

Rusike has been training with Maritzburg for the past three weeks and made a huge impression as the Team of Choice seeks to widen their attacking options for the new season. The 23-year-old, who was spotted at the recent Cosafa Cup tournament, will sign a three-year deal with Maritzburg. Another Zimbabwean forward, Cuthbert Malajila, left a big impression at the club before he moved to giants Mamelodi Sundowns. — Kickoff.com.
