SA gospel group to tour Zim

serenade Harare music lovers with some blessed harmonies.
Their tour of Zimbabwe will kick off with a show in Bulawayo before coming to Harare where they are expected to leave gospel lovers spell-bound with their melodies at the Harare Gardens on Sunday afternoon.
The group has been nominated for Best Male Vocal Group in the South African Crown Gospel Awards.
For Reality 7, it all started in the Seventh Day Adventist Church, in the small town of Amatikwe, part of Inanda, which is in the Kwa-Zulu Natal province.
“We were trained by professionals who were mentors to us, to ensure we understood”, narrates one of the members.
Reality 7 has played a variety of gospel musical styles until they decided to specialise in African gospel, where most of their songs are composed in African languages, and are sung both in acapella and also using instruments.
To date, the group has produced two albums that have beautiful and lovely African songs composed and arranged in-house by the members themselves.
The CDs titled “Amen” “Ivangeli” have proven to be a hit, judging by the airplay and rave reviews they have been receiving from both local and regional media.
Both albums are a digital recording of modern South African gospel music with a twist of ethnic, soft yet horsy harmonic sounds. The song “Is’cathamiya” will remind one of the legendary Ladysmith Black Mambazo on minimal instrumentation.
Reality 7’s popularity has become phenomenal and they are now even receiving invitations to minister in prisons, hospitals, orphanages, rehabilitation centres and are currently involved in various church programmes, in and out of South Africa.
In a prophetic language as stated in the Holy Scriptures, seven signifies completeness, and that is Reality 7’s prayer that through the group, the Lord can achieve so much more, as the members submit themselves as empty vessels to be filled by His commission and be used as His instruments.
“The greatest commission is today’s generation’s greatest omission; it is therefore also the group’s vision and mission to reach out to the whole world, through music, to all who are thirsty for His word,” read a statement from the group.
Their prowess on stage will further be enhanced by Stand, a Zimbabwean acapella group, made up of eight talented young men.
They have just released their debut album, a gospel compilation that is well organised and appealing in terms of melody and voice synchronisation.
