Kausiyo works in the SABC’s technical department in South Africa.
KISSFM reportedly lost the bid for a national telephone system licence after submitting an SABC technical report as part of its bid document.
SABC spokesperson Mr Kaizer Kganyago yesterday confirmed Kausiyo’s suspension.
“We are aware of the allegations made in Zimbabwe and I can confirm that he (Kausiyo) was suspended following reports that he used a document from SABC.”
He said the suspension was effected to pave way for an investigation into the allegations.
Mr Kganyago could not give more information on the investigations.
KISSFM were part of the four companies that were interviewed for the two available commercial radio stations.
Zimpapers’ TalkRadio and AB Communications were granted the licences.
KISSFM later launched but withdrew an Administrative Court application challenging the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe’s decision to deny them a radio licence.
Ms Sharon Mugabe, director and spokesperson of KISS FM dismissed allegations that her organisation had plagiarised the SABC document.
She said in terms of station format and technical details, KISSFM presented a substantial and compelling document.
However, an official from KISSFM had confirmed the document was produced by Kausiyo, a Zimbabwean working in the SABC technical department.
Kausiyo also attended the public hearings held prior to the issuance of the licences.
He was also seen passing notes to presenters at regular intervals as they were being grilled by BAZ and members of the public.
KISSFM chairman Douglas Munatsi and Ms Mugabe were at pains to explain why their digital spreading overview sketch had the SABC name on it, instead of KISSFM.
