THE Zimbabwe senior men’s XVs rugby team is set for a clash with Brazil in a rare Test match set for Stellenbosch, South Africa, next month.

The fully capped Test match will see the 24th placed Tupis facing the 34th placed Sables with world rankings points on the line. The match will take place on November 14.

This is the first time that the two nations will engage in a XVs rugby match. The contest comes as a good opportunity for the Sables who will be fine turning their preparations for the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Test matches between countries from the Americas and Africa are usually rare.

Brazil has off late played against Kenya, who came out victories in both Test matches.

Zimbabwe are the first of two African opponents for Brazil next month, with their other game coming six days later.

Brazil and Zimbabwe will both play again, only against either Kenya or Namibia. Kenya and Namibia will also play a test in Stellenbosch on November 14.

The two winning teams will play each other in the final while the two losing teams from the November 14 contests will face off for bronze finish.
