The Salvation Army Church leadership paid a familiarisation courtesy call on President Mnangagwa at State House which culminated in a closed-door meeting.

In an interview after the meeting, Salvation Army Territorial Commander Commissioner Daniel Kasuso said the church had been actively involved in cushioning families during the El Nino-induced drought.
“We also let him know that as Salvation Army we have schools and hospitals across the country,” he said.
“The role of the church is to spread the word of God and encourage people to leave wrongdoing and draw closer to God.
“Churches also ought to play a complementary role in governance issues across the country for example Salvation Army availed food relief to cushion Zimbabweans from the El Nino induced drought.”
