MWOS FC coach Lloyd Mutasa has called for calm in his camp after a dramatic week in which their lead in the ZIFA Northern Region Soccer League championship race was reduced to just TWO points.
Mutasa’s men lead the race with 71 points, two points over second-placed Scottland FC, after the Mabvuku side got three points from the boardroom in the wake of their abandoned game against Karoi United.
“I have been telling the players that nothing has changed, let’s play football the way used to play before the position that we are in right now and let’s be calm and composed.
“I think our intentions are known. Our target from the start is known, we are eyeing the championship and things are looking good.
“We still have the destiny in our own hands and we hope we will keep it until the end,” said Mutasa.
With six games remaining, and 18 points to play for, the former Dynamos coach beckons that the journey to the Promised Land won’t be an easy task.
“The competition is stiff, we still have six games, which is 18 points to play for. We still have everything to play for.
“We would want to collect as many points as possible and, considering where we are, we will be able to cross the line if we remain focused, remain grounded and keep our feet on the ground.
“We have the pedigree to get the results that we require. We have the arsenal, we have the ammunition, we have the motivation, we have the 12th player behind us.
“We have belief and faith in ourselves that we will cross the line.”
They begin their home stretch fixtures with a date against Trojan Stars at their fortress tomorrow.
They then play three away matches against Golden Eagles, Black Mambas and CC Lee Mhangura.
They round up their October fixtures with a derby against Norton Community at home.
