MUTARE netball powerhouse, Santa Queens are back on the court, this time up against Gweru uniformed teams – ZRP Vixens and Highflyers – in a Rainbow National League Week Six bubble set for Zimbabwe College of Forestry near Christmas Pass today (Saturday).
The matches start at 10am.
Interestingly, it is the battle of the Gweru supremacy that will have to be decided and settled away from the Midlands Province, but in the Eastern border city of Mutare.
The two Gweru giants and uniformed teams – Airforce outfit, JT Highflyers and Zimbabwe Republic Police side, ZRP Vixens – are the other two teams in this bubble.
For the Mutare-based Santa Queens, the interest will not be about Midlands superiority, but the mission is to collect maximum points and prove that Mutare is also a hub of netball.
Elsewhere in the same league, the Harare Municipal Police Ground Bubble will see Mutare correctional outfit, Tenax Queens trying to make amends to their early season mediocre performance as they have already lost five matches before mid season, which is a first on their part since joining RANL.
The Mutare side will have to put up with a stubborn Golden Valley, who can make their restoration process a bit tough as this Kadoma- based outfit has the energy, accurate shootèrs, very mobile mid-court players and a youthful side.
However, Tenax may draw hope in that Golden Valley usually plays to the gallery without getting the all important scores.
Chibwe is the other team in this bubble that will be played at Harare Municipal Grounds in the capital.
