MUSICIAN Sarah Dee was accompanied by her four children and father when she successfully launched her sixth album recently.
The launch was previously set for November last year but was postponed after the death of her mother.
Her manager, Chido Musasiwa, introduced Sarah Dee’s father, Peter Dhliwayo, who arrived leading his grandchildren.
It also became a celebration for the new album titled She Warrior and her 39th birthday.
The managing director for AFDIS, Stan Muchenje, was the guest of honour.
“I am delighted to be a guest of honour at this event. Congratulations Sarah Dee for your new album.
“We appreciate her presence in the arts and culture business industry as a multifaceted artist who is a performer, Master of Ceremonies, artists manager, hostesses and also a Music Management Forum of Zimbabwe member.
“With so many gems in the industry, Sarah Dee is a diamond that has stood the test of time,” he said.
Her family was paraded to the thrill of fans, before her children showered her with gifts.
Sarah Dee broke into tears.
She told H-Metro: “Firstly what made me cry was that, in all my life, I have never had someone who loves me for who I am and who believes in me.
“So, you know, Chido Musasiwa is the first person who has showed me kuti havandidire zvandinazvo because vakandida ndisina chinhu.
“When I was at my lowest, that was when she came to my rescue.
“Imagine on the day of my launch, she surprised me with a very nice cake.
“Without her, the launch wouldn’t have happened.”
She added: “Secondly, I naturally cried because of my kids, I was thinking of my mother who was supposed to be here but she passed on before this day.”
Sarah Dee’s father said: “I am not surprised by today because she started this when she was a Grade Three child.
“Because my wife, who used to grace her events, is now late, that is why I decided to accompany her tonight.
“We had four children, the firstborn was Priscilla, followed by Sarah, Petronella then Tinashe, a boy.”
He also talked on Sarah’s cancer illness.
“Sarah had a breast lump which we suspected to be cancer, some artists contributed to her successful operation in South African,” he said.
