THE head of Zuvarabuda Primary School in Glen Norah has been hailed as a model leader after she chose to acquire a new 72-seater bus instead of a vehicle for her to use in the execution of her duties.
Chairperson of the School Development Committee, Justice Chinomona, hailed the head, Great Manyuni Mugadza, for having the right priorities.
The bus has seven colour televisions, cameras both inside and outside, two fuel tanks for 800 litres, a communication gadget at the driver’s seat, and a refrigerator.
He said the bus will be hired out to raise funds for other school projects while ensuring the safety of the students since it has good security features.
“We are happy as parents with our state-of-the-art, brand new bus, we managed to acquire,” said Chinomona.
“We thank the school head and her teachers for considering our request for a bus ahead of her vehicle.
“When some school heads are going after GD6 vehicles, she agreed with parents to acquire a bus that benefits the school as a whole.
“We are going to hire it out as a way of raising funds for other running projects at the school.”
The bus was commissioned by High Glen District Schools Inspector, Joseph Kabasa, who urged other schools to consider similar initiatives for the benefit of school.
