Handing over furniture, a borehole and computers worth more than US$25 000 to Headquarters 2 Brigade Primary School in Harare, Cde Ndlovu said languages were key to bringing people together.
“Teaching of different languages in schools is very imperative since it brings people of different ethnicity together and promote national unity. The Ministry of Education, Sport, Arts and Culture should take into consideration that aspiring teachers should specify their languages so that they can concentrate on them when teaching in schools,” he said.
Cde Ndlovu urged members of the Zimbabwe National Army to take the lead in teaching different national languages.
“There is a missing link in the army, we should be exemplary and walk the talk since this is critical to our national unity,” he said.
He said the 120 desks and chairs, 21 computers and a borehole would go a long way in improving the school.
“These computers are meant for learning and not for games.
“You should also safely keep them and properly secure them in the lab to avoid vandalism,” he said.
School Development Association chairperson Brigadier General Francis Mutisi lauded the trust for assisting the school.
“We want to thank the board for coming at the opportune moment when we were looking forward to solutions to address problems that we are facing,” he said.
