SCOTTLAND have been charged by the Premier Soccer League for allegedly fielding an ineligible player, Witbeen Stoffel, in their Chibuku Super Cup match against FC Platinum at Rufaro Stadium on August 14, 2026.

The PSL says Scottland contravened Article 8.4, read together with Article 4.1 of the Chibuku Super Cup Rules and Regulations.

“The club has been given until Friday 2 October 2026 to submit its written plea, submissions or defence outline to PSL,” reads part of the letter.

Meanwhile, a separate case involving the Witbeen has been referred to ZIFA for determination under the relevant rules and regulations.

The matter relates to the Namibian’s participation in a ZIFA Munhumutapa Cup match.

During the mid-season window, the club registered Seth Patrick, Nickson Nyasulu, Neville Tengeg, Emmanuel Jalai, as well as Anderson De Campos, who have all gone on to feature in domestic competitions.

By introducing Witbeen in the 88th minute in their 3-1 win over FC Platinum in the Round of 16, it meant Scottland may have flouted the Premier Soccer League rules and regulations by exceeding the mid-season registration limit of five players.
