SCOTTLAND have become the first domestic football club to open a medical centre which serves their home community in Mabvuku and Tafara free of charge.
The Scottland FC Medical Centre was opened in the club’s home neighbourhood and has already started treating patients with different ailments.
Club owner Scott Sakupwanya, who is also the MP for Mabvuku Tafara, announced that the medical centre was now operational.
“Scottland FC Medical Centre now operational in Mabvuku/Tafara Constituency,” Sakupwanya announced on his X account.
“Not only serving players but the local community also.
“Step by step fulfilling our promises.”
Scottland became the first domestic football club to acquire a state-of-the-art ambulance which will now come handy in the operations of their medical centre. The club also entered into a partnership with Discovery Ambulance Services.
No comment could be obtained from Sakupwanya yesterday but a club official told H-Metro this was part of their efforts to help their local community.
“It’s about helping our community, they are the people who matter the most and we committed ourselves to helping them and making a change in their lives.
“There is nothing that is better than having a healthy community and we are playing a small part to ensure that we our community is in good health.” A woman was quoted on the same X post praising Sakupwanya.
She said:
