HAVING had a stint with Seventh-day Adventist acappella church groups along his artistic journey, gospel singer, Pastor Barak, believes nothing can stop him.
Barak said his resolution this year is to grow his music and give back to the community.
Barak, who is based in Bulawayo, said music was a healing process after he lost his father at a tender age.
“There’s something that I still don’t understand about music every time I sing. There is a certain healing that I have felt since I was a child at the age of five.
“I remember at that very tender age I was able to read musical notes and teach others.
“My first music experience was singing with a lot of SDA acappella church groups,” he said.
Barak said he was inspired by his tough upbringing.
“I lost my father when I was very young and we grew up in a family of eight children raised by a single mother.
“The experiences I was going through helped me compose songs. Any chance alone I would just start singing some notes, followed by words.
“Whenever words fail me, music would always speak.
“I used to listen to Mechanic Manyeruke, Prince Mafukidze, Mercy Mutsvene, Pastor G, Sabastian Magacha and many international singers,” he said.
His dominance was shown through the Wavuma video that made waves on ZTV last year.
“Launching the Wavuma album convinced me that I have a great following. The fans were very supportive and satisfied,” he said.
