A SECURITY guard from Bulawayo has appeared in court for allegedly stealing property worth over US$2 000 from his employer on three separate occasions.
Kuvare Majoni (49) of Old Lobengula suburb allegedly stole from Arikho lodge located in Suburbs area which is being represented by Ms Janet Fushayi of Cowdray park suburb.
Majoni was not asked to plead to three counts of theft when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Ms Nomasiko Ndlovu.
The magistrate remanded him in custody to December 17.
Some of the stolen property include television sets, cement, bed sheets and a blanket.
According to court papers, between July 5 and 6 this year, Majoni was on duty at the lodge when he stole a 32-inch television set, six bed sheets and a double bed blanket which were in one of the rooms.
The stolen property was valued at US$750.
“On September 23 this year and at Arikho lodge, the accused person stole 2 x Samsung television sets while on duty,” read the papers.
The stolen property was valued at US$1 000.
Sometime in October this year, Majoni was on duty at Arikho lodge when he allegedly decided to steal 16x 50 kilograms of cement which were in the garage valued at US$288.
The matter was reported to the police.
Investigations were carried out leading to Majoni’s arrest.
The total value of the stolen property is US$2 038 and US$1 628 was recovered. — @zinyuke98
