Selmor Mtukudzi brought nostalgic moments when she performed her greatest hits at the Zimbabwe College of Music on Friday.
She performed hit songs Hangasa and Nguva Yangu, which wowed the crowd and left many screaming for more.
Selmor’s spokesperson, Reginald Chapfunga, told H-Metro that the concert was a unique way of celebrating her 40th birthday.
“We had an awesome time interacting with our fans who enjoyed the show and music. Friday Chill-out with Selmor presents an up and close opportunity with the band in a conducive environment. It was an intimate gig with fans if we can call it that.
“Also remember these concerts are part of a massive and unique programme to celebrate Selmor’s 40th birthday which we will be launching soon,” he said.
For Selmor, March brings back sad memories of her late brother, Sam Mtukudzi’s tragic death 13 years ago in a car crash, and she said they miss him a lot.
“We will always miss Sam Mtukudzi. Death robbed us of a brother, talented guitarist and composer. We are poorer without Sam. Not many people knew that we also did a couple of shows with Sam. We will always celebrate Sam’s life,” Selmor said.
