GOSPEL sensation, Petronellah Sengwayo, hosted an exclusive listening session for her new music last Friday.
Pastor G, Spirit Praise, Jason the Rappe, Tasha Place and Purple Place graced the event.
In an interview with H-Metro, the 32-year-old artist was concerned how the church was losing a lot of young people to drug and substance abuse.
“There is a need for someone to give the gospel to the young people in a way they can understand and enjoy it. My biggest challenge was procrastination and fear of the unknown, so I had to constantly remind myself of who I was in Christ. I really hope to win the souls of teenagers through this EP,” she said.
Petronellah started her music journey at the age of seven singing in her father, the late Julius Gobvu’s church.
She studied Pensions Management and worked in a laboratory as a billing clerk where she recently resigned to work on her music full time.
In another interview, event director Knowledge Tirivanhu of Beyond Excellency group, said the event was just a precursor as there will be a bigger Good Vibes Concert on April 29.
He added that it was a learning curve for him as it was her first show and had a lot of barriers and fears he had to overcome.
“The event was a success as everyone we invited came and the support from other gospel artists is just amazing.
“Working with Petronellah has been amazing. However, procrastination was one of our biggest challenges, but we pulled through as it was my duty to take her beyond her expectations,” he said.
