A Bikita woman who forced her daughter-in-law into a strange sex arrangement in which she drafted a sex roster ordering her to take turns to sleep with both her husband and his younger brother has been fined four beasts.
Muchaneta Masakura from Gudo Village ordered her daughter-in-law Modi Besitara to have a slot between the sheets with her husband Simbarashe Mushakuro and his younger brother Rangarirai so that she could give her a grandchild.
This was after she suspected that her eldest son, Simbarashe, was impotent after going for many years without a child.
For the offence Masakura was fined four beasts by Chief Mupwakwa whose jurisdiction the area falls under.
The beasts will be surrendered to Besitara.
In passing the sentence Chief Mupwakwa took into consideration the fact that by forcing her daughter-in-law to sleep with her brother-in-law, Masakura was apparently violating her fundamental rights as a woman.
He also condemned her actions as primitive practice not in line with the Governmenta��s efforts to end the violation of womena��s rights.
It is reported that Simbarashe also agreed at the instigation of his mother who told him that it was the only way he would become a father.
To escape the brutal treatment, Besitara brought the matter to Chief Mupwakwa where Masakura was later found guilty of violating her daughter-in-lawa��s rights leading to her subsequent sentencing.
