NIGEL Tichaona Shamu is a name that rings loud and clear in the local modelling industry as he has groomed some of the most successful models in recent years. But there’s more to him than just modelling; he is a man of many passions and talents. In this lifestyle piece, we take a closer look at the man behind the Royal Infinity Management Company and his journey to success.
Growing up in Kariba, Shamu always had a passion for the arts, particularly drama and theatre. He dreamed of becoming a professional dancer, but circumstances led him to pursue a degree in Accounting at Midlands State University (MSU). Despite studying accounting, Shamu continued to be active in the arts and even hosted entertainment programmes among students and sponsored Miss MSU.

After completing his tertiary education, Shamu founded Royal Infinity Management, a grooming company that specialises in modelling, dancing, and singing. The company’s goal is to create complete packages of talented individuals so they can make a name for themselves in the entertainment industry.
Through his work with Royal Infinity, Shamu has directed several pageants, including Miss Tourism, Miss World Heritage, and Miss Environment Zimbabwe. Shamu’s passion for the environment is evident in his work, and he uses the pageants as a platform to raise awareness about environmental issues.
“I am passionate about the environment, and we are yet to do more initiatives through these pageants that will raise environmental awareness to different communities,” said Shamu.
Shamu’s hard work and dedication to the modelling industry have not gone unnoticed. In 2022, he was awarded the Best World National Director at Miss World Heritage, and he won the bid for Miss Tourism World, which means Zimbabwe will be hosting more than 80 countries advocating for Environment, Tourism, and Heritage issues through modelling in 2024.
Aside from his work in modelling, Shamu is also a certified miner with interests in gold, green tomalin, chrome, and lithium, making him probably the first young lithium miner in the country. Through his mining company, he exercises corporate responsibility by sponsoring the pageants he directs.
“I am into mining, and I know that as much as it is a good business, it also has an impact on the environment and the community at large. So, I do different initiatives through the pageants that I direct to raise environmental awareness and tackle issues that affect the community,” said Shamu.
Shamu is an active member of Zanu-PF, he recently contested and won the right to represent the party in the Kariba constituency seat. He plans to transform Kariba into a tourism and hospitality hub and improve the educational systems of schools in the region.

The Miss Environment Zimbabwe finals, which were scheduled to take place in Harare in April, have been moved to May and will now be held in Kariba, where Shamu hopes to bring in tourism competence to the region.
Shamu is a man of many talents and passions. His work in the modelling industry, mining, and politics is a testament to his dedication and commitment to creating a better future for Zimbabwe. As he continues to inspire and uplift those around him, there’s no doubt that he will continue to make a positive impact on the country’s entertainment and political spheres
