SIMBA BHORA president, Simba “Buju” Ndoro, says his team will play their Castle Lager Premiership home assignments in Shamva.
But, he conceded that his wish is going to limit the club from signing high-profile players.
He is now investing more in renovating Wadzanai to meet PSL demands.
“We are in a difficult position because we would have loved to fight for the championship in our debut season, but we also have to be realistic.
“The main objective of this project was to bring the top-flight league to the Shamva community.
“At the moment, all the focus is on developing Wadzanai stadium and it’s going to be a huge ask for us to rope in many big names,” said Ndoro.
He outlined the club’s vision for next season.
“I’m really overwhelmed by the support we have been receiving and we are aware that our fans are expecting many big things from us next season.
“But, the truth is we are not dreaming big.
“We are setting our sights on achieving a top four status.”
He added:
“We are going to fuse youngsters and a few experienced players in our preparation to challenge for the title in the 2024 season.
“Our situation has disadvantaged on the transfer market but we are going to see to it that all the players, who will don the Simba Bhora colours next season are motivated to play to the best of their abilities.
“We have an appreciation of our senior players who helped us get into the Premiership.
“We are not going to let them go but we are going to create posts which will suit each one of them only if they are willing.”
Ndoro confirmed that they have already started gathering all the wisdom and tools needed to transform Wadzanai into a better facility.
The Shamva side have also started making signings.
Former Dynamos coach, Tonderai Ndiraya was the first, and more signings are believed to be on the way.
Highly-rated Glamour Boys defender, Frank Makarati is among the big names who are being linked to Simba Bhora.
A club source revealed that negotiations were ongoing and Makarati’s move is likely to be made easier by Ndiraya’s presence.
Ndiraya previously worked with Makarati at Ngezi and Dynamos.
