A TEARFUL Mutare man approached the civil courts seeking protection against his violent wife whom he accused of frequently beating him up.
Isaac Makokove who is a nurse at the Zimbabwe National Army Hospital appeared before Mrs Annie Ndiraya praying for protection from his wife, Itty Runesu who is also a nurse at Dora Clinic. He told the court that his wife was abusive and was also denying him his conjugal rights. Makokove described their 10-year-old marriage as torturous. He told the court that he would be constantly beaten and thrown out of the matrimonial home by his wife on allegations of not taking care of his child.
“Your worship, this woman also cheated on me with a man who always calls her on her mobile phone. When I ask she becomes violent and beats me up. I have tried my best to make things right with this woman. She used to stay with my bank cards when I was working in Harare and later surrendered them when I came back, but she is not that kind of woman you can rely on,” said Makokove.
Mrs Ndiraya granted the protection order.
