THE ZIFA Central Region Division One Soccer League side Sheasham says arch-rivals TelOne are playing mind games ahead of this weekend’s championship deciders but they will remain focused.
Sheasham will travel to Zvishavane for a date with Loss Control as TelOne host Vumbachikwe on Sunday.
TelOne have since appealed to a ZIFA Player’s Status Committee verdict in which they are challenging the eligibility of player Tawana Alexander Chikore who joined Sheasham from CAPS United during the mid-season transfer.
The two sides are separated by three points going into the last game of the season and Sheasham chairman, Reginald Chidawanyika, believes the case will be resolved through proper channels although they view it as a way of disrupting them ahead of the crucial game.
“We are not comfortable to discuss much about cases which are before the courts but I think it’s part of the mind games. We are only focusing with the job at hand and that is to finish the season with a win and get promoted into the Premier Soccer League.
“The issue is still before the hearings and I cannot dwell much into that.
“This is towards the end of the season and mind games can be played around so we remain focused on our last game against Loss Control. I hope we will complete our journey without such confusions,” said Chidawanyika.
Chikore crossed the flow from Premier League giants CAPS United after he was offered a free transfer during the mid-season and went on to join the John Nyikadzino-coached Sheasham who are a point away from winning the championship.
Sheasham would not like to repeat their last mistake when they were beaten to the championship by Luke Petros’ Whawha on the last day of the championship race in 2019.
