SHEASHAM RULE THE ROOST

ZIFA Central Region Soccer League Division One side Sheasham continued with their dominance with a 5-0 crushing win over James West over the weekend.

With 18 wins and three draws, the Construction Boys have a six-point lead at the top of the table with 57 points.

They have distance between them and second-placed Hardrock.

Their dominance is undeniable — 58 goals scored, only ten conceded, and a staggering 41-goal difference, proof of their attacking firepower and defensive solidity.

“I can say so far so good but the job is difficult and we have to keep on going,” said Sheasham coach Prince Matore.

“When you are on top everyone will be targeting to hit you from all directions.

“Now, we must work harder. Every team will be gunning for us, so discipline and focus are key.

“So, our remaining games are difficult for that reason, everyone can surprise us and we have to keep working hard as we are undefeated.”

Wilfred Madzungu has been a revelation at the club scoring a hat-trick in their last outing to take his season’s tally to 14 goals.

“Madzungu has been key to our game, he is one of the important players, but team work has enabled us to get opportunities and we value the importance of every player.”

Club secretary-general, Happy Dziva, said they were fancying their team’s chances to bounce back into the top-flight league.

“The club is still undefeated and that’s a reflection of sacrifices also done outside the pitch.

“I would like to salute the whole executive and club president for a job well done.

“We hope the team will continue to hang on until the end of the season,” he said.
