DANCEHALL artiste Shinsoman (real name Romeo Anthony) has been appointed Black Opal Zimbabwe’s Brand Ambassador for the Men’s shaving range.
The endorsement deal, valid for a year, will see the dancehall “father” doing promotional jingles for the brand and performing in different parts of the country to market the product.
Speaking on the deal, Black Opal Zimbabwe marketing director Tatenda Mutseyekwa said they were happy to have found an artiste to appoint as their ambassador.
“Black Opal is pleased to have appointed Shinsoman as the brand ambassador for our products. Shinsoman will record promotional material produced by an affiliated record label; MV Global. Shinsoman and his wife Mai Devante, will also receive a year’s supply of Black Opal skincare and cosmetics products,” he said.
Asked why they chose to work with Shinsoman, Mutseyekwa said it was because the musician had developed a large following in the country through his music.
“We chose Shinsoman clearly because he enjoys life and is an open person to work with. He respects women as illustrated by his songs dedicated to his mother and his wife; he is a family man. Although he is now a star, he is someone we can all relate to. He is someone who fits in well with the brand Black Opal,” he said.
An excited Shinsoman said he was pleased to have been appointed brand ambassador for Black Opal.
“I am happy to have been appointed brand ambassador for Black Opal in the country. This is evidence that my music is growing and people are now starting to appreciate me as a musician in the country,” he said.
Shinsoman joins a number of dancehall artistes who have been appointed ambassadors by various companies in the country.
Black Opal is one of the country’s leading cosmetic companies which strives to make women and men of colour look their best with the best ingredients and the best products.
