Shumba makes U-turn

LOCAL gospel supremo, Blessing Shumba has changed his mind and will not release his much awaited album titled Holy Psalms Volume Two this year, The Weekender has learnt. The multi-award winning musician said he was instead going to release a DVD album carrying songs from his previous projects before end of this year. He said fans should expect new music in March next year.

Chimwe nechimwe, Mwanangu, Mapisarema, Kutenda chii, Chikuru rudo and Kuchengetedza murawo from the album Holy Psalms Volume One are expected to feature on the DVD project.

“The project will be a perfect Christmas present for my beloved fans. We would have loved to release a new album anytime from now but most of fans are demanding that we dish out videos first. There is nothing we can do except to bow down to their pleas. Chimwe nechimwe will certainly feature on the album. Fans should also expect other fine songs like Kutenda chii and Chikuru rudo,” said the gifted lyricist.

Shumba said although pressure was mounting from his legion of fans, he was “definitely” going to dish out new stuff in March. “I have more than 50 finished tracks. Our fans should be patient,” added the effervescent musician who is backed by wife, Pauline among other members.
