Zanu PF members must shun divisions, regionalism and tribalism as they pursue the collective interest of the party, President Mnangagwa has said.
The President, who is also Zanu PF First Secretary, said this today while addressing the 131st Ordinary Session of the Central Committee meeting held at the ruling party’s headquarters.
“There is no room for divisions, regionalism, tribalism and narrow ambitions that override the collective interest of the party. We are one body – from the cells to the Presidium – bound by the party’s Constitution and collective decisions. We must all toe the correct line of the revolution,” said President Mnangagwa.

“Unity and peace are prerequisites for sustainable development. Under my leadership, we have embraced and deepened a culture of dialogue and inclusivity. No one and no place is being left behind.”
He emphasised the importance of the grassroots.
“The strength and durability of any building or infrastructure lie in a strong foundation. In Zanu PF, our foundation is the cell/village structure. I commend the Central Committee and party as a whole for the successful cell/village verification programme during the recent National Cell Day.
“This was a mammoth task that ensured our membership data is accurate and our structures are genuine,” said President Mnangagwa.
The Central Committee meeting was preceded by the party’s Politburo meeting, which was held on Wednesday, while the National Consultative Assembly will meet on Friday.
