A powerful Ghana-Zimbabwe music connection has emerged as Siblings Recordz unveils the rebranding of Zimbabwean artiste Chichi Elliot into Chiedza Pretty, a name that means “light” in Shona, symbolising a spiritual rebirth and a new chapter in gospel music.

Born Chiedza Pretty Tongesai and originally from Mpopoma, Bulawayo, the Dubai-based singer is stepping into this new phase with a message of hope and healing. Her transition is more than a name change; it marks a divine calling to ministry through music.
“Chiedza Pretty represents a spiritual rebirth and a divine call to ministry through music,” Siblings Recordz said in a recent statement.

Blending Afro-soul with contemporary gospel, her debut single “Living Water” draws inspiration from John 4:14, offering Christ as the eternal source of fulfillment. She describes the track as “my story of surrender,” hoping it draws listeners closer to the true source of life.
The story of how she joined Siblings Recordz traces back to a divine encounter in Dubai.
“We met in church. I was looking for a place to worship and found myself at a church where I met Bright Pipim Addo, now Siblings Recordz’s COO. He told me when he starts a label, I’d be one of his artistes — and here I am.”
Led by CEO Derrick Kwaku Oduro, with Victor Gonzalez (GM) and Sandra Asimeng Sefah (AGM) on the team, Siblings Recordz is making waves in Ghana by nurturing purpose-driven artistes. Their mission: building ministries, not just music careers.
Previously signed to TRB Music, Chiedza Pretty also recorded songs such as “He’s Jehovah” and “For You Alone” under the mentorship of Bishop Austin Chapfika.
Now, as she prepares to release “Living Water,” Chiedza Pretty is ready to shine, not just as a gospel artiste, but as a beacon of spiritual purpose. She dreams of staging concerts in Zimbabwe and Ghana, but knows it starts with building a strong catalogue.
“Before stepping onto any stage, it’s important for us to build a strong catalogue. An artiste should have at least two to three songs or more to give the audience a full experience, and right now, we’re just preparing to release our first track,” she said. – Follow on X: @MbuleloMpofu
